We've all been in that ^ situation. Part of what we'll do in here is work toward learning how to make that situation happen less often. As 11th graders, you should be thinking hard about those ACTs and SATs - about scheduling mock versions and actual tests, analyzing your study needs, STUDYING, and getting scores that show the colleges you want to attend exactly what you're capable of academically.
On Friday, we wrote mock exam essays.
On Monday, we studied sample ACT essays at each scoring level and self-evaluated our essays, made a plan to jump up higher on that ACT rubric, then re-wrote the essays, using the sample essays as guidelines/models. We will type them Thursday.
ON Tuesday, we will take a quiz on the recent vocabulary terms and concepts (satire, Transcendentalism, argument and purpose analysis, quote formatting), complete our SAtire Projects, and begin watching the film version of Into the Wild.
On Wednesday, we will complete one more silent discussion of the final chapters of Into the Wild and watch more of the film.
On Thursday, we will type our essays as Word documents, discuss our essay revision approaches as blog posts, and watch more of Into the Wild.
On Friday, we will take mock versions of the ACT English section and analyze our results, then make plans for improving skills in that critical area.
