Oi this Crucible play is CUH-RAZY. Nothing like that could happen anymore, riiigggghhhhttttt??? I guess the next few weeks, we'll have to explore that a bit....but this week:

Monday: Four quadrant rhetoric analysis of commercials; dramatic reading of Crucible Act I. What great acting today! Let's keep that up! Also, let's keep up with the theme and rhetoric tracker as we move through the play. There are serious issues at stake here, and we need to learn to see them when they're slapping us around.

Tuesday: Surprise! I accuse you of witchcraft. Do you confess? Let's see how whichever choice you made works out for you. Afterward, we'll continue our dramatic reading. Well, those of us that aren't witches will. Dun dun dunnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.

Wednesday: We'll finish Act I and much of the theme and rhetoric tracker, then watch Act I in the Let's-Everybody-Hate-On-Wynona-Ryder film adaptation.

Thursday: We will complete the four-quadrant rhetoric analysis of political speeches this time, then dig into Act II with dramatic reading and discussion of rhetoric.

Friday: We will discuss where we're going with all of this - a glimpse into the present-day relevance of issues relevant to the Salem Witch Trials and The Crucible. Specifically, we will watch this video about the 25 Worst Cases of People Being Wrongfully Accused, then discuss our upcoming Innocence Project. Afterward, we will continue working through this awesome, timeless drama.

Arthur Miller is an incredible playwright. Look him up, y'all. Explore the theater offerings around here and in Atlanta (Fabulous Fox anyone?) - there's so much fun to be had.
