This week, we are looking deep into the various genres and how they reflect the most recent identified literary era: Postmodernism.

Monday & Tuesday: Having finished watching the film Across the Universe, we took a look at other popular films that deal with postmodern theme (hyperreality, time-bending, more human than human, altered states, flattening of affect, and pastiche). Each partnership created a poster detailing how Across the Universe and another film present one of those themes.

Wednesday & Thursday: Each person read a short story or novel excerpt that reflects the same postmodern theme they detailed in the poster. After reading the stories, students individually wrote story summaries and identified theme-relevant quotes. They attached these papers to the theme posters.

Friday: We will watch the first 40 minutes of 102 Minutes that Changed America, then read song lyrics from various perspectives and various artists reacting to 9/11.
