As usual, I am "beat[ing] on, [a] boat[] against the current" (Fitzgerald 180), trying to stay on top of all my American Dreamy life demands! Monday is blog update day, and man, I mean to leave on time today.

This week, we will finish reading, watching, and exploring the intricate symbolism in The Great Gatsby. Seriously, how well Fitzgerald integrated the symbolism and reflected the abuses and concerns of the 1920s is why I love the novel, and the new Leo film version does that job masterfully. It's been fun chatting about that with you guys. Now show me you get it by staging your own film stills and exam!

Monday - Plan your film still project, and begin drafting your accompanying blog post. See graphic organizer for film still and below for writing options.

Tuesday - Bring your props and take your film still pictures! Afterward, continue to draft your blog post for tomorrow. You will submit the draft with your group organizer at the end of class tomorrow!

Wednesday - We will visit lab 3063 to upload the film stills to your blogs and write the final drafts of your film still compositions. Turn in your drafts and film still organizer as a group packet before the end of class for full credit!

Thursday UPDATE - We will meet in the media center 2nd & 3rd and 3063 4th to finish your blog posts for this week.

Friday UPDATE - TEST DAY is moved to Monday- Bring your Gatsby reading guide and study guide in for some extra points on the test. Instead, let's finish watching The Great Gatsby and work on the study guide together.
